Nurseries (SGASA Accreditation)
The health and quality of nursery trees play a vital role in safeguarding macadamia orchards from pests and diseases and prioritizing tree quality. SAMAC acknowledges the critical role of healthy, high quality nursery trees in sustaining the macadamia industry in South Africa. Accreditation structures such the Seedling Growers’ Association of South Africa (SGASA) ensure that nurseries adhere to rigorous standards and guidelines for nursery tree production. This is formally implemented in the SGASA macadamia audit standard through macadamia tree standards and a plant quality index. This dedication to quality aligns with SAMAC’s commitment to industry standards, sustainability, and productivity.
Please note, however, SAMAC does not accept any responsibility for nursery trees. It remains the responsibility of the customer/grower to inspect the trees prior to ordering and again upon delivery.
