At just 11 years old, Seth has found a remarkable way to combine creativity, conservation, and sustainability. As part of his involvement with Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa, Seth created a stunning pangolin sculpture using recyclable materials and macadamia nut shells to raise awareness about the plight of one of the world’s most endangered species.
On 19 September 2025, the Ministers responsible for Food Security and Nutrition from G20 nations gathered in Cape Town, South Africa, for a landmark meeting of the Food Security Task Force Agricultural Working Group and Ministerial. The Yunnan Discovery Group recently toured South Africa’s leading macadamia-producing regions, gaining firsthand insight into the country’s world-class production capabilities. This visit that reinforced growing trade relations between South Africa and China.
On 21 July 2025, Macadamias South Africa NPC (SAMAC) was honoured to participate in the United Kingdom (UK) Buyers Roundtable hosted by the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) in Johannesburg. The engagement, facilitated by the United Kingdom Trade Partnerships Programme (UKTP), served as a dynamic platform for strengthening trade relationships between South African agri-exporters and UK buyers.
As part of the ongoing commitment to advocate for South Africa’s macadamia industry, SAMAC participated in the Department of Agriculture’s 2025 Budget Vote on 9 July 2025.
Macadamias South Africa NPC (SAMAC) engaged in a valuable discussion with the USDA, FAS (Pretoria) to address the 10% tariff introduced in April on our macadamia industry, and the uncertainty surrounding the potential 30% duty looming after the 90-day pause.
On 14 May 2025, SAMAC proudly hosted Chairman Ma Zengjun and fellow members from the Chinese Agricultural Wholesalers Association (CAWA). This engagement marked an important step toward deepening economic cooperation between South Africa and China in the macadamia sector.
